We are saddened to announce that after successfully recruiting and selecting a group of outstanding teacher candidates for The Teacher Academy Residency, Pittsburgh Public Schools has made the difficult decision to eliminate the program due to unexpectedly steep budget cuts and a challenging staffing landscape. As of June 2011, the program will no longer accept applications, train, or place teachers in Pittsburgh schools.
